MSS 6000: New system upgrade for the Finnish Border Guard

In April, on schedule, we successfully concluded the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the first upgraded MSS 6000 system for the Finnish Border Guard (FBG). The upgraded system uses the latest technology to improve quality of data, ease of operation and communication of data in real time.

On 7 March, the Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt visited Esrange Space Center together with Cathrine Ashton, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The visit was part of Ms Ashton's first visit to Sweden and a three-days tour around the Barents area to study its potentials. The campaign work of MASER 12 has now advanced to the Dress Rehearsal. The Dress Rehearsal started already yesterday afternoon with delivery and preparation of the biological blood samples from blood donors in Kiruna.

Minister for Education visits Esrange

The Swedish Minister for Education (and "space minister") Jan Björklund makes his first visit to Esrange Space Center today to get a deeper understanding of SSC's activities at the base. He will get in-depth presentations both of SSC's launch services for rockets and balloons and of the satellite communication services provided by the ground station at Esrange.
